Earl Leon Spencer

Earl Leon Spencer, age 92 of Midland, passed away August 21, 2024 at MyMichigan Medical Center. He was born in Fairgrove, Michigan on August 16, 1932 to the late Frank and Hazel (Short) Spencer. Earl served his country honorably with the United States Army and retired from Dow Corning as a Draftsman. He married his wife Judith on September 20, 1973 and they shared 30 years together before her death in 2003.
During his youth, Earl worked construction to go through college giving him the knowledge to design and finish his own home. He enjoyed playing the piano, wood working, gardening, and collecting antiques, particularly coins.
Surviving are his children, Leon (Michelle) Spencer, Louise Spencer, Sandy (Ray) Reeves; grandchildren, Eric (Shannon) Spencer, Amy (Jeremy) Werth, Jessica (Jameson) Ray, Melissa (Justin) Turner; great grandchildren, Courtney Werth, Kailey Werth, Molly Spencer, Ethan Spencer, Madelyn Turner; and sisters, Ruthann and Joyce. Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Spencer, and many siblings.
Family and friends can gather for a graveside service to take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the Gilford Township Cemetery in Tuscola County. Memorial contributions may be offered to a veteran's organization of one's choice.
