Gene and I had many wonderful memories of boating with Earl and Carolyn and we are sad to learn of his passing. Earl had a delightful sense of humor and great stories of boating on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. He was Commodore of the VA Yacht Club when we joined and told us with a very serious demeanor we should address only as Mr. Commodore during our first year. He didn't break a smile until an hour later when I actually addressed him as Mr. Commodore. He will be missed by many.

We had so many wonderful and crazy times together on the Bay, aboard boats, on land, at festivals and simply hanging out. Carolyn and Earl were such dear friends and mentors and just good people! Thank you to his family and especially his nephew for such tender care these last years. We will pay our last respects from home as we cannot travel at this time.
Fondly, Linda and Gray Bradford and the spirit of my parents, Chris and Louis Smith who too have gone on....
