Earlene Lanell Weiss, 69, of Burlington, passed at 1:30 PM Friday, May 6, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.
Born November 9, 1952, in Keokuk, she was the daughter of Earl Roscoe Davis and Darlene Doris Stark and Step-Father, Kenny Hayden. On August 1, 1981, she married Brian David Weiss at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Burlington, IA.
She graduated from Keokuk High School and then attended and graduated from the Burlington Beauty Academy.
Earlene was a hairstylist for over 48 years working for many salons over the years. She worked at The Hairdressers for many years and most recently Chic's & Guys. She loved her work and loved each of her customers as family.
She enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and finding bargains at thrift stores. She loved all animals and liked to feed the raccoons at her house.
Survivors include her husband, Brian David Weiss of Burlington, IA; sisters, Darla (Rick) Fader of Anamosa, IA, and Aletha (Roger) Vradenburg of Keokuk, IA; step-brother, Monte Hayden of TX; mother-in-law, Dana Weiss of Burlington; brothers-in-law, Brad (Juli) Weiss of Burlington, and Mark Weiss of Burlington; sister-in-law, Laura Weiss of Burlington; and 13 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, sister, Delta Vradenburg, niece Doris Burk and father-in-law, James Weiss.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until noon Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The Memorial Service for Mrs. Weiss will be noon Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz officiating. A celebration of life will be held at the Eagles Club following the service.
Memorials have been established for Des Moines County Humane Society and PAW Animal Shelter. In memory of Earlene, adopt a furry friend.
