Earline Engle Obituary
A native of Yancey County, she resided in Asheville for most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Roadman Elzie Arrowood and Gladys Honeycutt Arrowood. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Offie Howard Silver, Jr; second husband, William "Bill" Engle; son, Michael David Silver; grandson, Gregory; great-granddaughter, Abby; and sisters: Claudine Staffon and Shirley Smith.
For 35 years, Mrs. Engle was the owner of Cut & Curl Beauty Salon on Haywood Road. She was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church and more recently Bent Creek Baptist Church. She was a former member of the WNC Women's Auxiliary Pilots Club. In her younger years, she enjoyed square dancing and riding horses.
A consummate caregiver, she emulated God's grace with her servitude. Her love for the Lord was evident through the relationships with her many friends and family members. Strong willed, smart, and selfless, she provided a wonderful example of a life well lived.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons: Ronald Howard Silver and wife Gracie Elaine Worley Silver, and Terry McCoy Silver; daughter-in-law, Karen Rice Silver; grandchildren: Heidi Harper (Dee), Heather Brookshire (Chris), Heath Silver, Andy Silver (Courtney), Katie Lusk (Chris), Megan Silver Washel (Wes), and Molly Silver; great-grandchildren: Devon, Avery, Riley, Tanner (Emily), Taylor (Jackson), Hayes, Sam, Lilly, Nolan, and Molly; sister, Patricia Burrell; brother-in-law, Sam Smith; step-children: Phillip Engle (Teresa), and Lisa Carper; step-grandchildren: Kristen, Callie, and Whitney; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Family extends their greatest appreciations to the staff at CarePartners Solace Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, July 15, 2023, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 till 2 PM at the funeral home.
