Mrs. Earon McKinnie Gibson age 73 of Graceville, FL passed away Wednesday February 7th at Signature Healthcare in Graceville, FL.
Earon Mckinnie Gibson, also known as "Baby Sister" was born in Marianna, FL on September 2, 1950. She was the youngest child born to the late Matthew, Sr. and Earon Ward McKinnie.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of St. Phillip Missionary Baptist Church. She later married her late husband Clifford Gibson.
She graduated from St. Paul High School and later attended Chipola College. She had a successful career as the 2nd African American Chef for Amtrak, where she also worked as a dietitian. She served her community in Miami, FL for many years as an activist for civil rights.
In her free time, she enjoyed singing and entertaining others. She loved spending time with family and friends. Her talents brought joy to those around her and left a lasting impression.
She is preceded in death by her son: Reginald Spires; siblings: Ola Mae Lyttle, Bernice Williams, Annie Lee Davis, Irene Reed, Theodore R. McKinnie and Jesse McKinnie.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Tangela Kelly (Rev. Joseph), Diondrick Gibson and Cashmonique McKinnie; siblings: Matthew McKinnie, Jr, Jewel McKinnie and Major McKinnie; grandchildren: Jaliesa Kelley, Joseph Isaiah Kelley, Justin Spires, Jasmine Spires, Jayda Spires and D'Niya Gibson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
