Echoe LaCaille, age 60, of Eldora, IA, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Echoe was born on November 30, 1964, in Fort Dodge, IA, and was immediately adopted by her loving parents, Allen and Evelyn (Whitehouse) Mooney. She was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer, IA. She grew up in Spencer, where she attended school before traveling to New Zealand as a foreign exchange student to complete her high school education.

From a young age, Echoe inspired everyone who knew her. Despite being born disabled, she never let those challenges define her or slow her down. She faced the world with courage, determination, and an infectious enthusiasm for life. Echoe's adventurous spirit led her to travel across the globe - to New Zealand, France, Italy, Canada, and many other places - often venturing on her own and navigating new cultures with confidence and curiosity.

Echoe was blessed with one son, Jonah, who was her greatest joy. Together, they made homes in Canada, Colorado, Florida, and Iowa, creating lasting memories wherever they went.

She was known for her compassion and generosity - always willing to help anyone in need and ready to give the shirt off her back. Her heart was as big as her talent. Echoe was musically gifted, often writing songs and composing music for her ex-husband's band. She was also an accomplished artist. She and Jonah shared a deep love for both music and art.

Echoe's intelligence and thirst for knowledge were unmatched. Fluent in several languages, she earned multiple degrees, including a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Drake University. She also held a teaching certificate and was a certified paralegal.

She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, generous heart, and the inspiration she brought to everyone who crossed her path.

Left to cherish her memory include her son, Jonah Romain of Glenwood, IA; unofficial daughter-in-law Rebecca McDonald of Audubon, IA; brother Tom (Wendy) Mooney of Glenwood, IA; uncle Morris Mooney of Sac City, IA; close friend Jean Leonard of Sutherland, IA; many extended family members and friends.

Echoe was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Evelyn Mooney.
