Eddie A. Casteel, Jr. (Papaw),

72, of Bruceton Mills, WV, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 22, 2025. The son of the late Eddie Arthur Casteel Sr. and Lottie Katherine VanSickle Casteel, Ed was born on May 29, 1953, in Oakland, MD.

Ed was an avid member of Keeler Glade Church of God and strongly believed in the power of prayer. After working there for many years, he retired from Interstate Hardwoods.

Ed's family meant everything to him, and he was the happiest when his house was filled with all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved to make his "neighborhood rounds" on his side by side and hunt and fish in his younger years. Papaw will be missed by many and will continue to live in the memories of his loved ones.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Pamela Ruth Summers Casteel; and his two daughters, Jennifer (Joe) Poe and Katie Cunningham (David Mirilovich). Also surviving are his grandchildren: Michael (Morgan) Poe, Alison Cunningham, Riley Poe (Josh McMillen), Cori Cunningham, and Miranda Poe; his great grandchildren, Naomi and Benton Poe; and his loving dog, Missy.

In addition to his parents and sister, Ardella Fraley, he was reunited in death with his daughter, Lori Casteel, and grandson, Collin Casteel.

Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, WV, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., and Thursday, September 25, at the Keeler Glade Church on Eisentrout Road in Bruceton Mills, WV, from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service, with Pastor Marvin Shaffer officiating.

Condolences may be sent to the family at spearfuneralhome.net.
