Dan Nelson Casteel

Dan Nelson Casteel, age 74, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on February 12, 2026. He was born in Newnan, Georgia, on January 1, 1952, son of the late Herman Johnston Casteel and the late Mary Etta Steakley Casteel. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Ralph "Bo" Howard Casteel. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Dan attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hiram, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife, Sheree Mullinax Casteel; his children, Susan Conner and her husband Kenneth, and Scott Casteel; his grandchildren, Ryan Conner, Caleb Casteel, Jackson Conner, Madyson Casteel, and Willow Casteel; his brother, Wade Casteel and his wife Barbara; his sister, Faye Casteel Tucker and her husband Don; and several nieces and nephews, including Billy Mullinax.

The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m., with Mark Mullinax officiating.

Interment will follow at Cold Springs Church Cemetery.
