Timothy Freeman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Martin & Hightower Funeral Home - Carrollton on Feb. 7, 2026.
Timothy B. Freeman, 59, passed peacefully into the presence of Jesus Christ on February 5, 2026, surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He braved this last chapter of his earthly life with dignity and positivity, never letting his pain or illness slow him down or stop him from living his life to the fullest.

Tim was born January 2, 1967, in Decatur, Georgia, to Leon and Ardyeth Freeman. Eventually, his family settled in Jacksonville, Florida, where he graduated from Terry Parker High School in 1985 and Jacksonville University in 1989. He moved to Georgia, where he met and married Cindy Linville. They lived in Stockbridge and Winston, eventually settling in Carrollton.

Tim and Cindy had 2 children, Aubrey and Luke, and he would tell you that his children were his greatest joy.

He had a successful, 29-year career with Georgia Power, lastly as AMI/MDM Operations Manager. He loved his job, he loved his team, and some very special relationships were made during his time there.

Tim made lifelong friends no matter where he called home. His love for family and friends was as rich as was his passion for life. He never met a stranger and was always the life of any gathering. His enthusiasm for life was contagious. He was always the encourager, and his positive attitude would rub off on anyone who was in his presence, making others feel better for having been around him, even when he was feeling his absolute worst. He had a true servant's heart and would always go the extra mile to help someone in need.

Tim was a faithful member of North Point Baptist Church in Carrollton, where he found community and spiritual strength, never missing an opportunity to attend or pray for others; and even when he had every reason to be discouraged, he remained upbeat. Outside of his devotion to family and faith, he enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He loved soccer, the Atlanta Braves, and traveling; the beach was his absolute happy place. He especially loved game nights with family and friends.

There will now be a huge void in the world where this giant-hearted man once walked. Those he leaves behind to feel that void are his wife of 34 years, Cindy; his children, Aubrey Freeman (fiancé Zain Terazi) and Luke Freeman (fiancé Alyc Beasley); his mother, Ardyeth (Carl) Tew; sisters Debbie (Joe) Johnston and Dee Dee (Harold) Adams; his brothers and sisters in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Leon Freeman, his brother, Courtney Freeman, and his nephew, Brandon Adams.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, Carrollton, Georgia; and funeral services will be Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at North Point Baptist Church, 1400 Cedar Street, Carrollton, Georgia. He will lie in state from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church before the service. Because of Tim's heart for missions, it was his request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to North Point Baptist Church Missions Team at the above address.

Messages of condolence may be shared with the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Freeman family.
