Ed Mackerley

Mr. Eugene "Ed" Edward Mackerley, Sr. of Sparrowbush, NY died Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He was 63.
He was born June 16, 1962 in Denville, NJ the son of the late Merle Mackerley and the late Lillian Johnson Mackerley.
Ed married Annette VanNatter 41 years ago on July 28,1984 in the Town of Deerpark, NY.
He worked as the Chief Mechanic for the Parks & Recreation Department for The County of Orange in Goshen, NY working mostly at the Thomas Bull Memorial Park.
A family statement read: He was a man who found joy in the simple, meaningful things in life. He loved hunting and being outdoors, felt most at home working as a mechanic with his hands, and could often be found tinkering on something he was determined to fix. Auctions were one of his favorite pastimes, where his curiosity and love for finding hidden treasures truly shined. Above all, he loved people-he could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, and made those around him feel welcome and heard. His stories, laughter, and hardworking spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Son: Sean Mackerley of Ravenwood West Virginia Daughter: Crystal Stamm and her husband Carl of Ravenwood West Virginia Son: Keith Mackerley and his wife Courtney of Beach Lake, PA Son: Randy Mackerley and his wife Shannon of S. Fallsburg, NY Son: Eric Mackerley and his wife Justine of Monticello, NY Son: Jesse Mackerley of Beach Lake, PA Daughter: Michelle "Shelly" Mackerley of Monticello, NY Ed is survived by 5 brothers and 4 sisters: Otto Banghart, Kenny Banghart, Chris Banghart, Joe Drake and Billy Mackerley, Carol Gould, Rosie Anclif, Ethel Rossenagle and Mary Kramer. Brother-In-Law: Kenny VanNatter Grandchildren: Destiny, Autumn, Keith, Jr., Randy, Jr., Emily, Tara, Haley, Emily "Emmy", Brandon, Lilly, Leah, Savannah, Lydia, Sophia, JJ, EJ, Ethan, Raine and Stormi. Great Grandson: Lucas Ed was predeceased by his son, Eugene Edward Mackerley, Jr., his Granddaughter, Winter, his 2 Sisters: Sue Murphy and Gloria Keyes and his 2 brothers: John Banghart and Benjamin Banghart and his brother-in-law, Buck VanNatter.
A visitation will be held at GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, INC. 100 East Main Street Port Jervis on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY
