Edalene Joanne Menzi, wife of Jan Menzi, passed away at the John Clarke Senior Living Center on May 28, 2025. She was born in Fall River to the late James and Rita Moffitt Lindquist, on July 11, 1940. She was preceded in death by her son Edward (Teddy) Menzi, her twin brother, Edward Lindquist, sisters, Jean Rockett and Karin Cappiello, brother Frederick Lindquist, and in-laws, Walter and Sarah Jane Lawton Menzi. She leaves in-laws, Walter and Donna Menzi, Elizabeth Di Censo, and many nieces and nephews.
Edalene attended Sacred Heart Academy in Fall River and graduated from Baltimore Preparatory High School in Maryland. She worked at the Portsmouth Howard Johnson's where she met her husband of 61 years, and for many years was recognized as the cashier at DeCastro's Fruit and Vegetable Stand.
Her family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at John Clarke for the loving care they gave her for seven years and for Hope Health Hospice Care that helped her with a peaceful ending journey. People are often unaware of the close relationship between caretakers and patients and how they grieve as much as families do. We appreciate all who helped her, kept her healthy and made her final years happy.
