Mr. Eddie Lee Bennett

Eddie Lee Bennett was born in Canton, Mississippi to Edward Shelby and Lela Bennett on April 14, 1937. Eddie received his education in Canton, Mississippi.

Eddie relocated his family from Alexandria, Louisiana to Kansas City, Missouri in 1962, from this union came four children Velva, Eddie, Melda and Rhonda. A move

that was soon followed by many of his relatives and friends. After the separation of his marriage he was blessed with Angela and Latanya.

Eddie was fortunate to receive his apprenticeship in Kansas City, Missouri, an opportunity that later led him to employment at Feld Chevrolet where he master his

craft. He then established Eddie's Body Shop, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.

During retirement he opened up E & B Fish and More restaurant known for the best fish in town. Eddie was known for his strong work ethic, his willingness to help

others and family. He enjoyed spending times at the family lounges where he shared music and memories with family and friends. He also enjoyed listening to the Blues

and spending time with Albert Collins and Bobby Blue Bland when they came to town.

Eddie accepted Christ as his personal saviour and later received his wings on September 5, 2025. He will be welcomed into heaven by father Edward Shelby,

mother Lela Bennett, Brothers Leander Clay, Nathan Shelby, Robert Jenkins, Sisters, Daisy Terrell, Susie Ausmer, Son, Eddie Lee Bennett Jr., Daughter Angela Bennett-

Thomas, and grandson Delvon Landrum.

He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, but also as a friend, mentor and role model.

He leaves to cherish his memories one brother Clarence Bennett of Kansas City, Missouri and four daughters Velva Bennett-Godard (Kevin) Georgia, Melda Bennett,

KCMO, Rhonda Bennett-Williams KCMO, and Latanya Binns-Jennings (Sedrick) NC. Host 11 grandkids, Daryl Bennett (Cheryl) Vincent Landrum Jr. KCMO, Kyndall

Godard, Georgia, Kimberly Butler, Georgia, LaTia Frankin, Tennessee, Roosevelt Franklin Jr., Ky'Chel Miller, Tennessee, Cymira Williams, KCMO, and 11 great

grandkids, and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 13, 2025, 11:30am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 10:00 am.-11:30am at the chapel. Arrangements entrusted Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
