Eddie Burton Bogle, 80, of Bowling Green, passed away peacefully on Oct 19, 2024.
He was born April 5, 1944 in Bowling Green, KY, the second of four children, to the late Joseph Vance Bogle and late Eddie Pauline Beckner Bogle. He is survived by his daughters Joelene (Allen) Martin, Jeanette (Chad) Brumley and Jaquenetta (Sal) Ortiz; and grandchildren Trevor Martin, Sara Ortiz, Cierra Brumley, Dylan Brumley, Alex Ortiz, Christina Brumley, Devin Brumley and great- grandchild, Isaac Brumley.
He was a hard-working, determined, analytical entrepreneur who put his thoughts, ideas and dreams into action. He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather always present at significant events in each of their lives. His quick wit and sense of humor filled every gathering with laughter. Most of all his wise counsel was cherished by all. He will be missed dearly by his family, who will forever hold his memory close.
As a member of the Warren County High School inaugural football team, Eddie was a starting tackle. January 29, 2022 he was a member of the 1959 Warren County Football Team inducted into the Warren Central Athletics Hall of Fame.
Eddie was a self-employed business man. Over the years he engaged in many different business ventures. He had worked with concrete with McMurtrey Concrete and made septic tanks which then lead to his Waffle Crete endeavor. Using his Waffle Crete Company he built Public Storage on Lovers Lane and Easy Rent Self Storage on Russellville Rd. Eddie was also an oil man who drilled oil wells in Warren and neighboring counties. He dabbled in farming, raising Simmental cattle, holstein calves and had a strawberry patch. He also built residential homes and bought and sold commercial real estate. Eddie had his commercial pilot certificate and flew for Union Underwear. Photography and scuba diving were some of his hobbies. Most recently Eddie developed Quality Supply, buying and selling surplus equipment and steel.
He is survived by three siblings: Patsy Keown, Randy (Martine) Bogle, and Judy (Tom) Helm. Survivors also include many nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Charlie Keown.
A memorial service of family and friends was held to celebrate Eddie's life.
