Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery on Feb. 9, 2026.
With profound sorrow we announce the passing of Eddie K Cassini, beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was born in
Memphis, TN, on June 15, 1947, and on February 1, 2026, he entered eternal life in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 78. Eddie finished his earthly race as he lived it – with a smile on his face as he took his gentle, naturally sunny disposition to heaven with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mattie Cassini; his brother, Joe Cassini Jr.; and his sisters, Nadine Cassini Miller and Judith Cassini Crook. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Eileen, and his pride and joy, his son, Eddie K. Cassini Jr. (Jessica), his cherished twelve-year-old twin granddaughters, Katherine (Kate) and Caroline Cassini who he loved deeply and prayed over faithfully.
Nicknamed "Bobo" as a child, Eddie was lovingly known by this family endearment to his nephew and nieces-Chuck Miller, Nadolyn Sledz (Carl), Coni Thornhill (Buck), and Cari Smith (Mark)-as well as by childhood friends who still call him by that name.
With his impish grin and joyful spirit, Eddie charmed the cheerleaders while running track and playing football at Sherwood Middle and Messick High Schools. He deeply treasured his upbringing, which nurtured his faith in Christ as a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church. His parents provided a home rich in love and security, giving Eddie a firm foundation to navigate life with an even keel- gracious and measured in his interactions with everyone.
This foundation carried him into adulthood and served him well when he joined the U.S. Air Force after attending Memphis State University. Always particular about his appearance, Eddie was selected by the Air Force to model various new uniform changes, reflecting his respect for the institution. While stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany, Eddie met a young British woman on a blind date who became his lifelong companion and forever love.
After leaving the Air Force, Eddie enjoyed a fulfilling career in the hospitality industry, forming deep friendships that endured for decades. As Director of Food Service/Laundry Design & Sales at Holiday Corporation, he traveled the country, demonstrating integrity with every client. International travel also became an important part of Eddie's life and though he traveled far and wide, He remained steadfast in his devotion to home, family and friends.
Today, Eddie is healed, restored and fully home. He now rests in the presence of his Savior, hearing the words, "well done, good and faithful servant." He will be laid to rest beside his parents and sisters, as they await their promised reunion in heaven.
The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue,
Memphis, TN, on February 12, 2026. Visitation will be held from 12::30 to 2:00 p.m., with refreshments (sandwiches/hors d'oeuvres), followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Fireside Chapel, and a graveside service to follow.
