Eddie Cox, of Albany, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the age of 92 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held Monday, February 3, 2025 at Andersonville National Cemetery at 2:00pm, with Military Honors. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.
Born on August 29, 1932, in Newport, Arkansas, to the late Hugh and Beatrice Cox. Eddie devoted over 35 years of his professional life to the Albany Marine Base, where he worked as a Diesel Mechanic and took on the significant role of Union Leader.
Eddie's service extended beyond his career; he proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Marjorie Ann Reno Cox.
Eddie is survived by his children, Steven Cox of Worth County, GA, and Teresa Barton of Albany, GA. His grandsons, Brad (Casey) Cox of Cordele, GA, and Eric (Carmen) Cox of Tallahassee, FL, along with eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Mathews Funeral Home from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
