In remembrance of Eddie Lee Files, whose life touched so many was born on January 17, 1954, in Joliet, Illinois, Eddie's journey reached its peaceful conclusion on April 10, 2024, in Plano, Texas, at the age of 70.
Eddie proudly served our nation in the United States Army during the latter part of the Vietnam era, embodying the values of duty, honor, and sacrifice. We reflect on Eddie's life with gratitude, recalling the love he shared and the joy he brought to those around him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita Shaw and Ellie Files.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of over 25 years, Loraine Files, and his siblings: Carolyn Edmond and her husband Jeffery, Brenda and her husband Ernest, Mary and her husband David, James Shaw and his wife Jolene, and Shirley in Tennessee. Eddie's legacy is carried on by his children: Latronda Harris, Lavincent Harris and his wife Vanessa, Natina Harris, Jaquesha Files, Andrienne Harris, Alice Waits, and Tiffany Simpson. His grandchildren, Tyreke, Alisha, Kayla, Kesean, Logan, Jaden, Asahd, O-Mari, and O-Mya, will forever cherish the love he showered upon them. Today, we are joined by numerous family members and a multitude of friends, all of whom were touched by Eddie's kindness and generosity.
In this time of mourning, let us find solace in each other's company and comfort in the memories we hold dear. Eddie's spirit will live on in our hearts, inspiring us to cherish each moment and uphold the values he held dear.
