Eddie Lambert - 9-16-43 to 8-30-25

Eddie Rolfe Lambert, 81, of Lebanon, Virginia, entered his heavenly home on Saturday, August 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Stallard Woodrow and Eva Gertrude Deel Lambert, September 16, 1943, in Dickenson County, Virginia, and grew up on his family's dairy farm on Reeds Valley Road in Cleveland, Virginia. At the age of 16, he began hauling coal during the summers, learning early the value of hard work. After moving to Washington, D.C., following his high school graduation, Eddie worked for a roofing company and later spent eight years with the Potomac Railroad. It was there that he met the love of his life, Betty Stiltner. They married and shared 56 wonderful years together, making their home in Lebanon, Virginia.

Over the years, Eddie managed the Montgomery Ward store in Abingdon, Virginia, and later his aunt and uncle's business, Mitchell's Furniture Store, for several years. Eventually, he joined his two brothers in owning and operating L & L Construction Company, where he devoted 34 years of hard work and dedication, building not only a business but lifelong memories with his best friends.

Faith was the cornerstone of Eddie's life. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for 51 years, serving faithfully as a deacon for over 40 years and leading the choir for several years as well. He also dedicated two decades to the Gideons, sharing God's Word in churches, schools, and communities and distributing hundreds of Bibles. Eddie traveled on mission trips to Russia twice, further living out his passion for telling others about Jesus and the gospel.

Family was Eddie's greatest joy. He was the proud father of two daughters, and he embraced his role as an "epic Girl Dad." Whether at pageants, cheerleading events, or baton twirling competitions, he could always be heard from the stands with his trademark cheer, "Atta boy, Girl!" He was also incredibly proud of his four grandchildren and rarely missed a ballgame, golf match, or race if he was able. However, what he cherished the most, was seeing his children and all four of his grandchildren come to know the Lord.

Eddie will be remembered as a man of unwavering faith, devotion, and love. He loved the Lord and never missed an opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Betty Stiltner Lambert and his siblings, Billy Lambert, Donald Lambert, Glenda Blevins, Susan Redman, and Doug Lambert.

Survivors include his daughters, Krista Lambert Price and husband Dennis and Amanda Lambert Rowland and husband Chad; his adoring grandchildren, Alexis Price Logan and husband Tanner, Averie Price, Alysse Rowland, and Clay Rowland; brother, Gary Lambert and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 19383 Lee Highway, Abingdon, Virginia 24210.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Price, Chad Rowland, Clay Rowland, Tanner Logan, Thad Lambert, Brad Lambert, and Andy Lambert.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Friday, at the church, from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the funeral service.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Abingdon.
