Mr. Eddie Lee May, 88, a native of Brunswick, Ga. and former resident of Wayne County, Ga. passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Tattnall Healthcare in Reidsville, Ga. following an extended health crisis. He was born on August 03, 1937 to the late, Floyd and Henrietta Bennett-May in Brunswick, Ga.

While in Jesup he would attend Morning Glory Baptist Church. He loved singing and often participated in the choir. Eddie was an accomplished artist and enjoyed drawing. His work history was mainly centered around construction sites throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by both parents, Floyd and Henrietta May; his brothers, Rufus May and Eugene May; his twin sister, Elizabeth Cannon-May and his grandmother, Lizzie Moore-Bennett.

Eddie was never married and there are no biological children, however he left behind several nieces and nephews that adored him, his nieces and nephews, Ruthie McGill, Shirley (Felton) Moore, Charles (Tonya) Cannon, Marvin Cannon, Takisha (Hollis) Hollingworth, Jennifer Jones, Jamie Johnson, Chandra Johnson, all of Jesup, Ga. and Crofton Cannon of Odum, Ga. and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss his smiling face.

There will not be a wake/visitation on Friday afternoon. However, his remains will lie in state one hour prior to his memorial service on Saturday.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 @ 11:00 AM at Royal Funeral Home Chapel.

* There will be a private disposition of his remains following services and there will not be a repast following services.

Services will NOT be live streamed.
