Eddie Wayne Sanders Sr.

ANDOVER-Eddie Wayne Sanders Sr., age 81, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Ashtabula Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born March 13, 1944, in Fayette, Alabama, he was a son of the late O.T. Sanders and Beatrice (Thompson) Sanders.
He married his beloved wife, Mary Ann Harris, on April 21, 1961. They had been married 61 years at the time of her passing in 2022.
Eddie owned and operated Ed's Lawnmower Sales and Services for 30 years, located first at his home then he moved his business to the square in Andover. For several years, he also ran his own snow plowing business.
A die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Eddie never missed an opportunity to watch a game to cheer his team on. He also enjoyed NASCAR, collecting sports memorabilia, watching old westerns, and playing cards. Above all, Eddie cherished the time he spent with his family.
Survivors include his two daughters, Kay C. (Logan) Hahn of Boerne, Texas and Bonnie S. (Wade) Brining of Diamond, Ohio; son, Eddie W. (Rebecca) Sanders Jr. of Perry, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Clint, Brandon, Shane, Kaitlin, Eddie III, Candice, Benjamin, Ashley, and Dakota; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Sanders of Madison, Ohio and Delores Sanders of Cleveland, Ohio as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann, three brothers, Ray, Teddie and James Sanders and two sisters, Linda Russell and Jane Sanders.
Calling hours will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, OH 44003, immediately followed by the funeral service starting at 1:00pm. Pastor Josh Peyton of The Andover Christian Church, will be officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Eddie's family would like to say a special thank you to the nurses, aides and staff at Jefferson Healthcare for their care of Eddie during his illness.
