Born March 26, 1963, in Ashtabula, OH, he was a son of the late Thurmond Ferd Adkins, Jr. and Rose Marie (Estes) Headley. On September 22, 2007, he married his beloved wife, Mary Takacs.
For several years, Thurmond was a truck driver at Simak Trucking. When he wasn't trucking, Thurmond enjoyed fishing, being on the lake and watching NASCAR and golf. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Adkins; his children, Thurmond Ferd Adkins IV, James West, Tiffany Caudill, Robert McMillian and Kristen Hummel; his siblings, Cheryl, Kim, Theron, Tina and Tammy and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 6PM to 8PM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover OH 44003. No formal service will take place.
