Eddie Lee Yelder Jr.

Eddie Lee Yelder Jr., a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, was born June
18, 1963to the union of Eddie Lee Yelder, Sr. and Dorthy Gamble Yelder
in Mobile, AL. He transitioned peacefully into his heavenly home on
Friday, September 5, 2025 at 9:04AM.
Today we celebrate the life of Eddie Lee Yelder, Jr. more affectionately
known as "Pawpaw" to his grandchildren and Kelly to family and
friends.
Eddie confessed Christ at an early age. He was a member of Delaware
Street Missionary Baptist Church and later went on to join Higher Power
Church under the leadership of Pastor John H. May.
Eddie's passion for driving led him to have a career as a truck driver
which included several jobs such as at the City of Mobile, United Van
Line, Waste Disposal and Flower Wood Nursery.
Eddie's legacy of a full and happy life has touched the hearts of his
family, the neighborhood and many, many friends. He will truly be
missed from playing cards or dominos, watching his favorite teams,
riding and listening to his music and just talking to everybody. He was an
avid Auburn University Fan!
He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Lee Yelder, Sr.; sister,
Robin Yelder; grandfathers: Willie Yelder, Sr. and Seymour Gamble;
grandmothers: Ruth Mingo and Laura Gamble; niece, Precious Yelder;
and son, Kelvin Worthy.
Eddie leaves to cherish his legacy and precious memories, his loving and
devoted wife of thirty-eight years, Rosalind Yelder; his mother, Dorthy
Yelder; three loving and devoted children: LeTresh of Birmingham, AL,
Kelly (Shanise) and Trey (Jasmine) both of Mobile, AL; four brothers:
Joe (Brenda) Clark, Roderick (Rita) Nobles, Anthony (Keisha) Clark and
Reginald all of Mobile, AL; brothers-in-law: Roderick (Carmencita)
Smiley of Miami, FL and Authur (Melshonda) Baldwin of Mobile, AL;
sisters-in-law: Diedra of San Antonio, TX, Tracy (Wesley) Sanderson,
Subrenia (Andeliar) Bettis of Mobile, AL and Camelia (Jerome) of
Miami, FL; nine grandchildren: Destine of Birmingham, AL and Kelis,
Jaylin, Treyvon, Kelly Jr., Kelton, Tredon, Eddie IV and Simone all of
Mobile, AL; two great-grandchildren: Kiavonte and Krue both of
Birmingham, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and
friends; a special family friend, Shawana Martin and many, many others
that he would talk to on a daily basis you know just who you are.
