Eddy Carol Mason, 80, loving husband of Judy Mason, died Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
Born in Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late Edward and Caroline Cobb Mason.
Eddy was an amazing man that lived a rewarding life full of love, laugher, joy and family. Eddy met the love of his life his wife Judy 34 years ago, they were inseparable, their love for each other over the years was a picture of what marriage should be. She was his soulmate! He loved spending time with his children, Christa, Tiffany and Eddie going out for a great meal to celebrate birthdays and gathering with all of his family for the holidays were cherished moments. Eddy had an undeniable bond with his mother Caroline and would move heaven and earth for her and a closeness with his brothers Donnie and Joe that most siblings never find. It was never a guess what the perfect gift should be on every occasion, because of his passion for Golf. He was always on the course sometimes several times a week and had the pleasure to attend the Masters on many occasions. He also had a fantastic group of lifelong friends that he enjoyed playing golf with for decades. Eddy was a big fan of the Carolina Gamecocks so Carolina red was a prevalent color in his wardrobe and even when choosing his dream car; he sported around town in his Mustang convertible falling right in line with this common color theme. Speaking of his wardrobe he was so dapper, always dressed to the nines and a man of many hats, literally. He was a beloved ballroom dancer and dance teacher most of his life, he brought joy to so many students across the nation with his talent to teach dance. We know he did not put up his dancing shoes but only stepped from this life to the next dancing on streets of Gold. Eddy's infectious laughter and kind heart will be greatly missed, until we meet again.
In addition to his loving his wife Eddy was survived by his daughters, Christa Mathews, her husband Ed Mathews and Tiffany Ward, her husband Andrew Ward; a brother Joe Mason, his wife Pam Mason; grandchildren, Eric Mathews, Brandon Chapman, Christian Dodgens and Grace Chapman; great-grandchildren, Braylon Chapman, Lily Chapman, Colton Dodgens and Ember Dodgens.
In addition to his parents, Eddy was preceded in death by his son, Eddie Mason; step-son Joey Siefers; brother, Donald Mason and wife Wanda Mason, brother David Mason; and grandchild Kindle Chapman.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest Chapel followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Berea First Baptist Church 529 Farrs Bridge Road, Greenville, SC 29611 or Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605.
