Edgar "Stubby" Gray Jr., 82, of Mount Clare, passed away July 26, 2025, at Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg. He was born on January 14, 1943, in Clarksburg, the son of the late Edgar Gray Sr. and Mary Ruth Vincent Gray. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Paul Gyke and nephew Christopher Gyke.
Edgar is survived by his wife, of almost 60 years, Linda Gray, whom he married on December 24, 1965. He is also survived by his sons: Tim Gray and wife, Jennifer; Mark Gray and companion, Wendi; three grandchildren: Brandon Gray and wife, Shelby, Timothy "TJ" Gray Jr., and Lindsey Gray; his sister Joe Ann Gyke; and niece Sheila Skinner.
Edgar graduated from Shinnston High School in 1961. He served in Army and was later employed with Union Carbide until he retired. He was Methodist by faith. He was a lifetime member of the Monon Valley Beagle Club where he enjoyed training and running his hunting dogs. Edgar enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being an avid sports fan.
He could be found cheering on the Mountaineers and New York Yankees.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated.
