Edgar Irizarry Obituary
Mr. Edgar Irizarry Jr., 47, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at his home in Amsterdam, NY. He was born on November 8, 1974 to Mr. Edgar Irizarry Sr. and Mrs. Maria Escabi of Lares, Puerto Rico. Edgar and his family relocated to Williamsburg, Brooklyn where he grew up. Edgar was employed by the New York City Transit Authority for 24 years.
Edgar is survived by his beloved wife Lynnette Serrano-Irizarry, daughters Jailene, Jael, and Ashley Irizarry, and son Edgar Irizarry III. He also leaves behind his mother Maria Escabi, father Edgar Irizarry Sr., stepfather Dixon Rivera Sr, brothers; Dixon Rivera Jr., Richard, Jerry, and Steve Irizarry, sisters; Michelle Rivera, and Ines Irizarry, as well as numerous nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his dogs Neko and Dinero who he adored.
A private service will take place at the convenience of the family.

I am very saddened to hear that Edgar has passed away. He was such a compassionate person; always checking in on his co-workers and always willing to lend a helping hand. My condolences to his entire family...May he rest in peace.

First thing is I will like to give my condolences to the family, I am stumbled for words and I can´t believed this, I´ve known Edgar for about 23yrs, he is going to be dearly missed, he was like a brother. Very saddened by this. Rest In Peace my brother I will see you when the almighty calls for me, watch over us as I go through my days knowing you are gone and as long as I have known you, you have lived your life well and I hope you did but I still know it was too soon that god has taken you away from us, rest easy brother, I hope the Holy Spirit light guides you to the green pastures and pearly gates. I was a transit cop on the same Line that Edgar worked, we became brothers and best friends. I can't believe he is not hear with us. We often spoke about the Lord, in between us laughing at stupid things. He will surely be missed by me. My condolences to his family, we at Transit Dist 33 NY Police Dept honor him
