Edgar Allan Key, age 92, passed away on October 24, 2024. He was born to the late John Edward and Zela Berl Reddick Key in Bethpage, Tennessee.
He was a member of Garretts Creek Church. He pastored Mt. Carmel General Baptist Church for 11 years. Edgar was a United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by wife, Nellie Key; son, Mike (Teena) Key; grandchildren, Ashley White, Natasha Todd, Joshua (Krystal) Todd, Allison (Bart) Barton; great-grandchildren, Sarah Barton, Mattie Barton, Parker Barton, Treyson Barton, Aliza Barton, Nathaniel Jimes, Tyler Jimes, Natalie Todd, and Christian Todd; 1 sister, Lila Johnson; 2 nephews, Richard Key, Randy Johnson.
Edgar is preceded in death by parents, John Edward and Zela Berl Reddick Key; daughter, Vickey Lynn Todd; brother, Kenneth Key; and sister, Flora Hunter.
Funeral services for Mr. Edgar will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 11am. Visitation with friends and family will begin on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 12pm until 8pm, and again on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 9am until service time at 11am with Brother Gary Isenberg and Larry Emery officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests flowers in Edgar's memory and also donations to be made to the funeral expenses.
The family have entrusted Woodard Funeral Home with the care of their loved one.
