Obituary of Edgar Damian Maldonado
Our beloved Edgar sadly passed away on October 24, 2023 at the young age of 34 in Salinas, CA. Edgar was born on June 5, 1989 in San Jose, CA to a single mother, Maria Rosa. He lived a hard and fast life, but although he appeared tough on the outside, he was a softie on the inside. Edgar's life was full of trials and tribulations; he was incarcerated at the age of 20, and remained so until his passing. Despite Edgar's hard life, he always carried a smile with him and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Edgar was soon to be released from prison and had high hopes of living a peaceful and happy life; he was so looking forward to eating a bowl of "pozole" and a plate of "carne asada". Sadly, that day never came. I leave everyone with a few quotes, word by word from Edgar himself
"I have a purpose here on earth; I still have yet to find it, cause man, the stuff I've been through that's not really normal, huh? LOL. I'm in Jesus' holy hands and I forgive everybody and anybody who has caused me pain. I do not hold grudges against anyone."
"Life is a trip sometimes, and to be real, it's what you make of it."
"God knows how bad I want to change and be a better man, brother, and son. I never lose faith in God and I still know and believe that everything will eventually fall in place for me."

"I'm a good person deep inside my heart, that making somebody happy or helping them in any way, gives me joy."
Edgar is survived by his mother, 2 sisters, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, and many friends and extended family members that loved him very much. Although Edgar has left us with a deep scar in our hearts right now, we hope that Edgar's life will serve as an example, a lesson, or a reminder that everyone needs love in this life.
For all who wish to accompany us, viewing will be held Wednesday Nov 8, 2023 from 12-5pm at Healey Mortuary, with a rosary prayer from 4-5pm.
Mass will be on Thursday Nov 9, 2023 at 10am at Cristo Rey Church (Christ the King Church) in Salinas, Ca.
Burial will follow immediately after mass at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Salinas, Ca.
