Edgar E. McAuley, 97 of Zanesville, died 7:34 AM, Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Altercare Zanesville. He was born Wednesday, August 22, 1928 in Caldwell, the son of Frank McAuley Sr. and Angie (Carter) McAuley. He married Betty (Oliver) McAuley on Saturday, April 22, 1950 and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Edgar worked with Pretty Products in Coshocton retiring following many years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and greatly enjoyed the time he spent outdoors. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who cherished the time he spent with them. Edgar is survived by his four daughters, Victoria Butcher, Cindy (Orlen) Bates, Rhonda Davis, Tina (Harold) Bare; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Frank (Carol) McAuley Jr, Ralph McAuley and Wilbur (Karen) McAuley and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Edgar was preceded in death by his wife, Betty McAuley; two daughters Deborah McAuley and Abby Anderson; one granddaughter, Mysti Davis and seven brothers and sisters. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to funeral services from 1pm to 2pm on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Hillis Combs Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue Zanesville, where funeral services will follow at 2pm with Vera Welker officiating. Private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PAWS of Muskingum County in Edgar's memory.
