A devoted husband to Sally and a proud father to Emily and Aviana, Edgar's greatest joy was his family. He was the beloved son of Ana Maria Rico and the late Humberto Rico. A loving brother to Abraham, Gabriel and Glen. Edgar was also a loyal friend to many who cherished his humor, kindness, and steady presence.
He earned his bachelor's degree and built a successful career at Paylocity, where his dedication and good nature left a lasting impression on his colleagues. Outside of work, Edgar was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan-a true believer through every season-and a lover of all things Star Wars.
Edgar will be remembered for his warmth, laughter, and unwavering love for the people and places that shaped his life.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Casey & Rios Funeral Home, 4540 W. Diversey Avenue, Chicago, IL 60639. In celebration of Edgar's life and his lifelong love of the Chicago Cubs feel free to wear your favorite Cubs attire or blue and red in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made toward funeral expenses.

A truly beautiful person with the most loving heart. Edgar, you were truly a man to admire. Every CUBS game will have your spirit in it. I pray your family heart to be filled with all the love you always gave them,

Plato is quoted as saying 'when the soul takes flight to the world that is unknown, upon there arriving, it is sure of bliss and forever dwells in paradise.' Edgar was a dear friend and co-worker, and I am thankful to have known him.
