Rochester-
Passed away on, September 20, 2023 at the age of 84.
Predeceased by her parents, Charles E. Curtis & Rachel A. Curtis (Nyland); sister, Joyce Scott; granddaughter Emily G. Bisbo and many other cherished family members.
She is survived by her brother Cliff R. (Lorraine) Curtis, and her children; Dawn M. (Fred) Wagner, Edward C. (Karen) Bisbo, Jr., Bret A. Bisbo, Gregory J. Bisbo, Joyce R. Bisbo; her grandchildren, Nicole (Eric) Jones, Sarah (Sam) Reddy, Jessica Bisbo, Colton (Brittany) Bisbo, Nathan Bisbo and Dylan Brown; 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Edith was an incredibly selfless Christian woman that loved God and sharing His love. She raised five children and still managed to also work full-time as a registered nurse, teach Sunday School, Children's Church, health class, be a school librarian and a member of her church choir and much more. She loved reading God's word. She was a great story teller, loved knitting and crocheting and working on puzzles, but the earthly apple of her eye was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and would tell us she loved us a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. She would tell you she grew up in the coal mining town of Revloc, PA and had many stories to tell you about it. She was called Dee Dee by many, or Ma Bisbo. She was an outstanding cook and it was not uncommon for everyone to gather at her house, including beloved neighborhood kids.
A gathering will be held in her honor immediately following Sunday's 10:30 AM service at Greece Assembly on October 1, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Museum of Nursing History or Greece Assembly, 750 Long Pond Road Rochester, NY 14612 (Designate Missions Fund).
