Edith Blair, age 100, of Fonda Iowa passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.
Edith Beatrice was born on January 19, 1924, to parents Homer and Maude (Hunter) Hines at their family farm in Sac County, Iowa. On June 15, 1941, Edith was united in marriage to James Lester Blair at Sac City Christian Church. The union was blessed with six children: James, Kenneth, Danny, Beverly, Paul, and Bradley.
Edith attended grade school in Sac City, IA, and later, while living in Michigan, she earned her diploma from Imlay City High School. Edith also attended Buena Vista College where she took some computer classes. Later when the family moved to Michigan, Edith worked alongside Dr. Slaga as a nursing assistant and for many years drove a school bus for the Dryden Michigan School District. She also enjoyed being a housewife and helping on the farm. In her free time, she was an avid quilter, played golf, and spent time researching family genealogy. One of her favorite memories was getting a hole-in-one at #7 at the Fonda Golf Course.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kenneth (Nancy) Blair, Plymouth MI, Danny Blair, Norway, IA, Beverly (William) Kobe, Waterford, MI, Paul (JoAnn) Blair, Harlan, IA and Bradley (April) Blair, Humboldt, IA.; daughter-in-law: Joyce Blair of Humboldt, IA; grandchildren: James, Krystal, Kenneth, Dennis, Bryan, Brandt, Brandon, Jonathan, Monica, Nikki, William, Christopher, Ryan, Matthew, John, and Jeremy; 38 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
