Edith Lavonne (Gregory) Decker, 84, of Spencer passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at McCormick's Creek Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, in Spencer. She was born on May 12, 1937 to Irvin Otto and Mildred Mae (Vanover) Gregory.
Edith married Robert Ray Decker. She had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Donna's Nursing Home and was a homemaker. Edith was a member of the Spencer Church of Christ and Owen County Art Guild. She wrote and published a book, enjoyed traveling, camping, plants and flowers, water color painting, animals (mainly cats), reading, doing word searches, watching mystery movies, spending time at the Spencer Art Guild, poetry and sending her personal cards to friends. Edith was a great cook, she loved making her homemade noodles, zucchini bread, and no-bake cookies.
Edith is survived by her five children, David Allen Decker (Pam) of Linton, Larry Decker (Darla) of Bloomington, Debra Haines (Chester) of California, Michael Ray Decker (Wendy) of Spencer, and Nikita Decker (Laura) of Bloomington; a sister, Patty Bowman of Spencer; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Decker in 2002, daughter Ronda Woolbright, infant son Dale Ray Decker, brothers, Steven Robertson, Willard Gregory, Roger Robertson and sister, Susan Freeman.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 North Montgomery Street, Spencer, IN.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Gary Fiscus will officiate. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM at Valhalla Memory Gardens, 310 North Johnson Avenue, Bloomington, Indiana 47404.
As per the families request, mask are requested at the viewing and funeral service.
