Edith "Edie" Louise Eckenrode was born June 8, 1948, in Union Bridge, Maryland and passed away October 17, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the age of 77. She was an active member of the Hornbeck Senior Center where she helped her fellow members as much as she could. Edie was a member of Gandy Baptist Church in Florien, and for many years she provided day care services in Leesville. Some of her hobbies included playing Bingo, assembling puzzles, diamond art, sewing, and baking. Visiting family and friends brought her much joy, and she often traveled to Colorado, Maryland, and all over Louisiana. Edie liked to listen to all kinds of music and dance to country/western tunes. Her family was the center of her world. She loved staying in touch and being a part of their lives. Edie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eckenrode Jr.; partner in life, Harold Ford; daughter, Cindy Dawn Dickson; parents, Charles Alton Biddinger and Anna Ruth Bowersox Biddinger; and brothers, Robert Alton Biddinger and Frank Everett Biddinger. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Tim Eckenrode (Stephanie) of Denver, CO; daughters, Deborah Thompson (John) of Hampstead, MD and Krystal Furlong (Josh) of Leesville, LA; grandchildren, Justin Wear, Alexis Dickson, James Baker, Natalie Baker, Damien Harrell, Harley Harrell, Becky Thompson, Matthew Thompson, Tasha Snyder, Cyrus Snyder, Shaya Snyder, and James Furlong; great-grandson, Colton Carr; brother, Howard Biddinger; sisters, Amy Drumm and Mary Ellen Ward son-in-law, Scott Dickson; and a host of extended family members and friends. Edie's family will plan a memorial service for a later date.
