Edith Ellis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Criswell Funeral Home - Ada on Jan. 7, 2026.
Edith Linelle Ellis was born April 27th, 1940 in Ada Oklahoma to W.A. Timmons and Ruth Eudora Timmons. She entered into her eternal rest January 5th, 2026.

Linelle spent many decades playing both the piano and organ in church services, starting at the age of 13 and as recently as 2024 while living at The Baptist Village in Ada, her home of the last seventeen years. Her talent and love for crafting lasted decades as well. Family, friends, and strangers alike have many of her handmade items still displayed today. She enjoyed working in the local bank, owning/operating The Peppermint Lion toy store, and as a cashier at Wonder/Hostess before her retirement. For the last twenty plus years, she has really enjoyed watching all of her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren, great nieces and great nephews grow into adulthood with stories to tell her. She loved hearing about all the new things they were doing and learning about the interests of those whom she loved so much.

Linelle was preceded in death by her parents, W.A. and Ruth Timmons. Her husband, Royle Ellis and daughter Laurie Cook. She is survived by her sister Judy Hanson, as well as her sons and their families: Steve and wife Alice Ellis, Darrick and wife Renalla Ellis, stepson Clarke and wife Debbie Ellis, and stepdaughter Joanne Choate Ellis. She had nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Mercy Hospital Ada, Ada Care Center, and Halo Hospice.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 10th at 2pm at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada, Ok.
