Edith "Edy" Jacobs Johnson, age 87, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 surrounded by family.
Edy was born in Henry County, Kentucky, to the late Curtis and Hallie Jacobs.
She worked for the Boy Scouts of America in Louisville where she met her future husband, William "Bill" K. Johnson. She was also a long-serving member of the Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her grandson, Jeramie Johnson and four sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lisa Renee Johnson, Billy Gene Johnson (Susan) and Donald Glenn Johnson (Shannon); grandchildren, Jeff (Jeri), Tracy (Mike), Jennie (Rob) and Jason (Amanda); Edy is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brownsboro Park and Wesley Manor for the loving care they provided Edy.
Funeral Services will be held Monday,12:00 pm, at Evergreen Funeral Home with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
The family would like to request that donations in Edys' name be directed to Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church or Wesley Manor Nursing Home.
