Edith Minaya

Edith Esperanza Minaya Guizado, 62, of Manchester, CT, passed away on Friday January 23, 2026.

Edith was born in Charcarita Puerto del Callao, Peru, on March 25, 1963. After graduating high school, she continued on to Paralegal Studies at Peru College. Edith successfully immigrated to the United States in 1997. She embraced her new life, eventually becoming a proud U.S. citizen. While she loved her adopted country, she always held fond memories of her birthplace and family in Peru.

Edith worked in the hospitality industry, in businesses such as Courtyard by Marriott and Hartford Hospital, for a number of years before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, singing, connecting with loved ones, and spoiling her granddaughter.

Edith is survived by her only son, Diego of Manchester, CT (and his wife Kayla), her granddaughter Madilyn, her sisters Lucy and Rosario, her brothers Alfredo, Roberto, Jaime, Willy, Manuel, and Walter, her beloved nieces and nephews, and a loving network of family and close friends across the U.S. and in Peru.

Edith is preceded in death by her father, Manuel Felix Minaya Grados, and mother, Graciela Guizado Egúsquiza.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 7th at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street in Manchester CT. Calling hours will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with a service following at 5:00 p.m.
