It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edith Marie
Fleming Moseley. Born in
Johnson City, Tennessee on November 9,
1933, she was the daughter of William Jack Fleming and Mary Elizabeth
Conner Fleming. Edith grew up in Johnson City, where she attended
Science Hill High School and East Tennessee State University.
After her marriage to George William Moseley, Edith & Bill moved to
Memphis, Tennessee, where he attended dental school. The couple then
settled in Halls Crossroads in 1958. A lifelong learner, Edith went on to
complete her degree in Special Education at the University of Tennessee.
She spent the majority of her career teaching at Brickey McCloud
Elementary, where she touched the lives of countless children with her
patience, kindness, and dedication.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Edith had a deep love for the
outdoors and for spending time with loved ones. She enjoyed hiking,
traveling, and birdwatching, often accompanied by her best friend
Loretta Black. She also had a passion for gardening, tending to her
plants with the same nurturing spirit she showed her family and students.
Edith was an active and devoted member of Salem Baptist Church,
where she served in various capacities over the years, always looking for
ways to give back to her community. Above all, Edith's greatest joy
came from her family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she
found immeasurable happiness in the lives of her four grandsons and her
many great-grandchildren, who brought her an abundance of joy and
pride.
Edith is preceded in death by her parents, William Jack Fleming and
Mary Elizabeth Conner Fleming, and her late husband, George William
Moseley, DDS. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Moseley
Long (Mike) and Kimberly Moseley Sharp Rumph (Jeff); her
grandchildren, Spencer Alan Long (Stephanie), Ethan Michael Long

(Kylie); as well as her great-grandchildren, Adelyn Marie Long, Callen
Spencer Long, Luca Jette Long, Rhowen Elizabeth Sharp, Ezra Danielle
Sharp, Patrick Beckham Sharp, Peyton Rose Sharp, and Paisley Marie

legacy of warmth, kindness, and the unwavering commitment to family
and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
