Edna Dawn Obituary
Sue was employed as a dietary supervisor at Lakeshore Mental Health Facility for 30 years.
Sue was a member of Tennessee Ave. Baptist Church.
In her spare time, she enjoyed watching westerns, the game show channel, Tennessee Vols football, and going to Walmart with her sister, Faye.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Pearl Cooper; brothers, Howard, Charles, Sam Jr., and David Cooper; sisters, Bonnie Cooper, Opal Tallent, Frances Simpson, Lillian Pickens, and Janet Acuff. She is survived by daughter, Tammy Waller (Steven); son, Anthony E. Dawn; sisters, Grace Cooper, Mildred Braden, Faye Cooper; sisters-in-law, Nancy Cooper and Ruth Cooper; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to UT Hospice for their care of Sue during her final days.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am-12:00pm on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel with a service to follow at 12:00pm. We will process to Mt. Hermon Cemetery for the graveside immediately following the service.
Pallbearers: Matthew Boling, Anthony E. Dawn, Jeffrey Edwards, Joey Hall, Josh Tallent, Casey Watson, and Parrish Webb.

Praying for the family during this difficult time. Loved this woman like my own grandmother, she will be missed deeply. I will forever cherish the memories and wonderful conversations I had with her. She will always be in my heart.
