Edith Ronchetto Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perfetti–Assalley Funeral Homes – Morrisonville on Mar. 2, 2026.
Edith Louise Ronchetto, 96, passed away at 9:14 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at High Point Residence in Taylorville. She was born on December 23, 1929, in Thayer, the daughter of Dominick and Gertrude (Bermes) Berta. She married Domenick J. "Pepsi" Ronchetto on June 3, 1950, in Pawnee, and he preceded her in death on October 13, 2016. Together they raised two sons, Gary Lee and Michael Domenick, in Palmer. A life defined by love, generosity, and quiet strength, Edith will always be remembered by those who knew her. Alongside her beloved husband, she owned and operated the local tavern that became the very heart of Palmer - a warm and welcoming gathering place filled with laughter, stories, and the comforting aroma of her extraordinary cooking. An exceptionally talented cook, she was known for her homemade pasta, delicate pastries, and meals that brought people together around the table. Edith gave selflessly and wholeheartedly to her family, always placing their needs above her own, and her love was felt in every dish she prepared and every kindness she extended. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she nurtured, the community she helped build, and the family she cherished beyond measure.

She is survived by her son Gary's wife, Mary Ronchetto of Morrisonville; granddaughters: Heidi Spyridakis (Jon) and Misty Ronchetto; great grandchildren: Andreas, Anastasia, and Antonio Spyridakis; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons: Gary and Michael, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

A funeral service for Edith will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville with Fr. Florent Kanga officiating. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and burial will be in the Morrisonville Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Bear Creek Community Club. Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville is assisting the family with arrangements.
