Edith Elaine Shanaman (Martzall), 76, of Stevens passed away peacefully in Ephrata on December 12, 2025. Edie’s final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. The oldest of 3 children, she was born November 18, 1949 in Mount Airy, PA to the late Warren Martzall Sr. and the late Kathryn Martzall (Eberly).
Edie celebrated 53 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Harold E. Shanaman, Sr. on September 30, 2025. Together they shared two children, a daughter, Jenn Kohl (Shanaman), wife of Kenny Kohl, Jr, and a son, Harold (Butch) Shanaman Jr., husband of Heather Orr-Shanaman. She is also survived by a sister, Grace Harting (Martzall), wife of Paul Harting, and a brother, Warren Martzall, Jr., husband of Angie Martzall (Shirker). She had a special place in her heart for her four grandchildren, Brandon Kohl, significant other of Katelyn Shimko, Zane Kohl, husband of Katie Kohl (Zoll), Luna Parsons, wife of Lauren Parsons, and Kathryn Shanaman. She was also blessed with a great grandson, Wyatt Kohl. She was always eager to attend any of their sporting events, concerts, awards ceremonies, etc. Her family meant the world to her.
Edie was a lifetime member of the United Fellowship of Reinholds and enjoyed teaching Sunday School, being part of bible study groups, and helping over the summer at Bible School. Her faith and church family were very important to her.
Edie worked at Bollman Hat for 23 years, followed by some time at Conestoga Wood from which she retired.
Outside of work, Edie loved going to yard sales and was always happy to find a bargain. She loved finding treasures for friends and family at the yard sales. Anyone who knew her knew she loved flowers, especially yellow ones, as that was her favorite color. She especially enjoyed daisies and mums. She continued to work in her flower beds even as her health declined. She was always happy to go to a local greenhouse for more flowers each year.
She will be dearly missed by so many, but we are at peace knowing she is now healthy and strong and in the company of her Lord and Savior.
