Edith M. (Supernaw) Voorhees, age 92, of Lamar, Missouri passed away April 17, 2023, at St. Luke's Nursing Center in Carthage, Missouri.
Edith was born February 4, 1931 in Cook, Nebraska to Walter Ray Supernaw and Edith Amna (Lane) Supernaw. Edith graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1949. On November 2, 1954, Edith married Richard Voorhees in Neosho, Missouri.
Edith drove a school bus for the Lamar School District for 13 years and was a member of Lamar United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharie Kay Voorhees, Dawn (Dale) Norwood, and Lesley (Bruce) Haubein, all of Lamar, MO; six grandchildren, Brian (Jill) Norwood, Kristin (Brett) Pettibon, Jensen Voorhees (Moriah Piers), Aaron (Jessica) Norwood, Sierra Stewart (Cody Hall) , and Jason (Tori) Norwood, along with 13 great-grandchildren.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2023 at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar, MO.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Lamar United Methodist Church in Lamar, MO.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to either the Lamar United Methodist Church General Fund or the Lamar Animal Shelter in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
