Edmond Eugene Cooksey, born on December 1, 1938, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025. A lifelong resident of Covington, Georgia, Edmond is remembered as a dedicated member of his community and a beloved figure to those who knew him.
Throughout his life, Edmond exemplified the values of kindness, integrity, and perseverance. His commitment to family and friends was unwavering, and his warm spirit touched the lives of many. An active participant in local events, he enjoyed contributing to the well-being of his neighbors and fostering connections within the community.
Edmond's legacy will be honored with a series of services beginning with a Visitation on October 20, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Lester Lackey & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1163 Reynolds Street SW, Covington, GA 30014. Family, friends, and community members are encouraged to gather during this time to celebrate his life and share cherished memories.
The Celebration of Life will take place on October 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM at Grace United Methodist Church, situated at 3145 Washington Street Southwest, Covington, GA 30014.Rev. Agnes Harvey, Pastor. Mr. Cooksey will be placed instate one hour prior to the service. Following the celebration, he will be interred at Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 1120 Crowell Road North, Covington, GA 30014. Family and Friends are invited to a repast following the interment services at the Church Fellowship Hall. The cortège will assemble at 12:00 Noon from his residence.
Edmond Eugene Cooksey will be sincerely missed but fondly remembered for his generous heart and enduring spirit.
