Edmond Olivier Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by James Crowder Funeral Home - La Marque on Jan. 14, 2026.
Edmond (Eddie) James Olivier, a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather who passed away Monday evening, January 12, 2026. He was born on November 15, 1938 in Galveston, Texas to Edmond Olivier and Annie Anthony Olivier.

Eddie began working at the age of 15 at the Port of Galveston as a messenger in the railroad department. He soon became a helper, a tinner helper and an auto mechanic helper. He worked his way up to the Lead Auto Mechanic for the C&M department; retiring after 45 years of dedication service at the Port as the Supervisor of the C&M Department. After retiring from work, he would join a group of retired buddies for once a month coffee at Kelley's in La Marque. Eddie enjoyed hunting with friends in Concan and Comfort Texas and enjoyed going to Craig, Colorado to hunt as well on the Seely Ranch with Butch and Judy Bahr.

Eddie was known for his wonderful sense of humor, always laughing and never at a loss for words. He was truly a man of many talents: full of generosity, full of love and would stop to help whenever or wherever help was needed Eddie was a homebody who enjoyed being outside, working in his garage, fixing up odds and ends. Remodeling in the house and making sure everything was precise to "Eddie's way". He enjoyed spending countless hours picking and cracking pecans on the back porch with Sissy and his dog children right by his side; Hannah Banana and Heidi Ho; evening times watching the History Channel and How It's Made in his comfort chair with Hannah under the heating blanket with him, who never left his side.
Eddie enjoyed fishing with his wife for countless flounders in the cold, to beautiful reds off the boat to walking a pier catching speckled trout. Later on he just enjoyed watching her from a bench, fishing at his daughter Dana's place in Liverpool from the canal catching some nice reds.

He shaped the lives of those around him-not with noise, but with purpose. Today, we honor a man who lived his life fully, gave without expectation, and left behind a legacy of strength, respect, and grace. Even in his final years, our father remained true to who he was-thoughtful, dependable, and quietly observant.

Eddie was preceded in death by his son, Alfred Durrett III and his parents, Edmond and Annie Olivier. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deaintha (Sissy) Olivier, one son, Eddie Olivier, wife Michelle, three daughters: Stephanie Zoblosky, husband Jeff, Dana Belt, husband Curtis and Shawn Carr, husband Jack, 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, his two sisters: June Molina and husband Ed and Carol Sue George and her late husband, John.

A Memorial Visitation will be on Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque with the Memorial Service to follow at 4:00pm.
