Edmund E. Latta of Grosse Ile, passed away peacefully on November 17. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Joan (Bobrowski). Dearest father of Helen (Edward) Nowacki and Lauri (Stan) Eason. Cherished grandpa of Anthony, Alexander and Emily; great grandpa to Riley and Eleanor. Dear brother to Suzanne Callaway, Robert Joseph (Sally) and John; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother Robert Joseph and his parents Eddie and Yvonne.

Born and raised in Wyandotte, Ed was a graduate of St. Patrick High School and attended college in Florida. Known as "Ed" or "Eddie" to family and friends, he and Joan met and fell in love when they worked for Security Bank and Trust and were married in 1964. Ed made his career in the airline industry, where he held several positions, retiring as a cargo manager.

He loved to travel and take "Sunday drives" to explore the world around him, golfing, doing home improvement projects and in his later years working jigsaw puzzles. If you came to visit or attended a party he and Joan hosted, you became family, if someone needed a hand, he was always there to help. He taught his children and grandchildren about hard work and dedication, but also how to take a few minutes for a lemonade break and conversation.

His family loves and misses him more than words can say.
