Edna Grant Beard, age 93, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, John "J M" Beard; son, Kenneth Beard; parents, Taber and Dora Bell Bennett Grant; and brother, Joe Grant. Mrs. Beard is survived by sisters, Judy Carnes of Cleveland, GA and Linda Radford of Cumming, GA; brothers, Mark (Paulette) Grant of Cumming, Tom Grant of Gainesville, GA, and Bobby Grant of Cumming; three very special ladies, Bonnie Smith Ginn, Darlene Smith, and Rita Smith Burdette; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Beard was born on October 7, 1931 in Cumming, GA, and received her education at Chestatee High School. She was retired from the Flowery Branch Elementary School cafeteria department. When she was twelve years old, Mrs. Beard was saved at Silver Shoals Baptist Church in Cumming, GA, and was a long-time member of New Bethany Baptist Church in Buford, GA. She loved all her family very much. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Nix officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 30 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
