Edna Bonacker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holman-Howe Funeral Homes Lebanon on May 10, 2025.
Edna "Ann" Bonacker, daughter of Ed L. and Flossie L. (Gibson) Cyrus, was born on February 19, 1942, in a log cabin near Tunnel Dam, Camden County, Missouri, and departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on May 9, 2025 in Lebanon, MO, at the age of 83.
On June 18, 1981, Ann was united in marriage to Carl L. Bonacker of Linn Creek, MO and over the next 22+ years they enjoyed traveling all over the U.S., going to swap meets, their "fur babies", and being self-employed in many businesses. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2004, and afterwards Ann moved to Lebanon to be near her daughters.
At the age of 17, Ann professed her faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Camdenton, MO at the time of her death. As long as her health allowed, Ann enjoyed attending church and was especially fond of gospel music and fellowship events. She loved reading, drawing and painting, making greeting cards, and visiting with family and friends. She LOVED ice cream and her grandchildren! She has written many poems, children's books (of which she also illustrated), and a fiction novel.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Chad) Nelson and Donna (Terry) Cook, all of Lebanon; 5 grandchildren, Lance Brown, Tyler (Lindsey) Brown, Cassie (Darrin) Schaub, Heather Cook (Cory Mihalik), and Nicholas (Shannon) Cook; and 7 great-grandchildren, Caleb Brown Uchtman, Easton and Avery Brown, Reagan and Cove Schaub, Madelynn and Christopher Cook; her nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; her siblings, Theo Rogers, Loren Cyrus, Dora Mae Knox, and Margaret Pierce; niece, Anita Pierce; and nephews, Michael Pierce, Jimmy Rogers, and Johnny Rogers.
Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. Together we celebrate her life and will cherish the memories she created for her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., in the funeral home. Interment will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Camdenton, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
