With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mrs. Edna Doty, a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, who departed this life on May 1, 2024. She was born on Apr 27, 1943, in Blue Diamond, KY to Zella (Everidge) Sinclar and Andrew Smith.
Edna is survived by her beloved children: daughter, Mary Miller; sons, Thomas Doty, JR (Barbara), and Donald E. Doty (Ethel). Her legacy will live on in the lives of her grandchildren - Michael Taylor, Rachel Luna (Jose), Donald (Chris) Doty, Daniel Henson (Mary) and Erin Hartman. Edna’s joy for life will live on through her many great grandchildren especially her love of racing with Mini Me and wrestling with Wheldon. Edna is survived by her sister, Jeannette Short and brother, Robert Smith (Theresa) and Oliver Smith (Nonna).
She joins in eternity those who have passed before her: her mother, Zella (Everidge) Sinclair; her father, Andrew Smith; her beloved husbands, Thomas G. Doty and JT Ragland; her granddaughter, Susan Doty; and her great great grandson, Michael Taylor, III.
Everyone whose lives were touched by Edna comprehended the depth of her kindness, the warmth of her compassion, and the comforting nature of her wisdom. Her resilient spirit was a beacon of hope to all around her. Her memory will continue to inspire those she left behind.
