Mom was born in Durant, Ok to Fred and Annabelle Stone. Mom was proceeded in death by the love of her life, Oscar Jack Duke, they were married for 71 years, her children, Michael Duke and Shirley Duke. She is survived by her children Roger Duke, Dennis Duke, Staci Emerson, Traci Duke and her sister LeVerne Easley, her 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and her 11 great-great grandchildren.
Mom worked for almost 30 years at Alta Vista School as the cafeteria head cook and Dietician, she planned and cooked breakfast and lunch for literally thousands of kids but will be most remembered for her chicken and dumplings, Christmas fudge and her cowboy bread.
Farewell our dear mom, you were and will always be our friend and the Matriarch of our family, we your children have been blessed to have called you, mom.
A celebration of life services will be held, the date, time and location will be announced at a later date.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I knew your mom my whole life as Shirley was my first friend. We were neighbors. Her house was the first place I ever got to spend the night at. I was young and scared but she calmed me down. Breakfast was the best I can remember, pancakes and a big glass of milk (I hated milk) but hers was so good. It was then that I learned the difference between store bought and fresh. My family loved her.

To the family of Edna, I send you all my sincere sympathy. I met Edna in August of 1980 at Alta Vista Elementary and saw her last in April of 2025. Edna was a true friend and a joy to be around. She had that special gift of always making you feel like part of her family. Rest in peace my dear friend. Your memory will and friendship will be missed and cherished. Roger
