Edna Earl Hamilton, was born, November 19, 1949, in West Pointe, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Albert Gardner and Louisiana Hicks Gardner. Edna's family moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she was a graduate of Soldan High School. There Edna met and married her love and soulmate Dashiell Hamilton, on August 3, 1970.
In May of 1981, they moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky, where she, attended Western Kentucky University and was a manager for Po Folks Restaurant. Edna was of the Baptist faith and attended Oakland Mt. Zion and Seventh Street Baptist Churches. Edna loved shopping on-line, and was an amazing cook (especially BBQ), she enjoyed traveling and was able to visit, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Memphis, Tennessee, and Paris, France, which was her favorite trip, but more than anything the time she spent with her grandchildren meant the most to her. Edna even had the chance to be on The Price is Right but instead gave her tickets to her Mother in-law.
As the morning was moving into day, Saturday, June 22, 2024, Edna passed from this world we know at the age of 74 years, 7 months and 3 days.
To cherish the memory of Edna Earl Hamilton she leaves her husband of 53 years, Dashiell Hamilton, Sr.; children, Derek Hamilton, Donnita (Christopher) Peachers and Dashiell (Heather) Hamilton, Jr; grandchildren, Myesha, Edna Ann, Dashiell III, Jade, Bryce, Malcom, Chris II, Donovan, Jevon, Darryn and Ellaia; great grandson, Dreighson; sisters, Roberta Ann Jasper, and Cleopatra (Carl) Wren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cremation was chosen.
Sincerely,
-Your friends at Burnam and Son
