EDNA HERRMANN Obituary

EDNA HERRMANN Edna Herrmann (nee Kastendick) passed away at Cass County Senior Living on Sunday, September 14, 2025. The daughter of John and Wilhelmina Kastendick, Edna was the youngest of eight children. On January 1, 1949, she married Eldon "Bud" Herrmann. Together they lived and farmed in rural Chandlerville. Edna was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church in Chandlerville. She was an avid quilter, loved solving crossword puzzles, and was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini. Surviving are her son, Mark (Theresa) Herrmann and daughter, Anna Kay (Jack) Nalewajka. She also leaves behind two grandchildren Sean (Jessi) Herrmann and Amy (Warren Smith) Herrmann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon; parents, John and Wilhelmina Kastendick; in-laws, Frank and Gladys Herrmann; siblings, Lorene (Carl) Fanter, Vera (Adolph) Nordhausen, Nina (Melvin) Leiding, Berna (Louis) Fanter, Dorothy (Earl) Rayburn, Harold (Edna) Kastendick, and Arnold (Edna) Kastendick; sisters-in-law, Eileen (James) McDaniel and Vivian (Sheldon) Potts; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church in Chandlerville or Fairview Cemetery near Bath. Online condolences can be left for Edna's family at www.hurleyfh.com. Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville is in charge of arrangements.
