Prior to her passing, she was a faithful member of New Faith Temple COGIC in Thonotosassa, FL. At a young age, she attended Sanders Chapel in Seffner, FL under the leadership of the late Elder Hezekiah Sanders. It was there that she received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and was saved.

She and her husband, Deacon Andrew Johnson, later became devoted members of Faith Temple under the leadership of the late Superintendent Jadie M. Singletary. During her membership, she served as Church Mother, Pastor's Aid Mother, and was a licensed Missionary in the Church of God in Christ. Following Superintendent Singletary's passing, she continued her walk of faith at New Faith Temple. In her final months, she was lovingly pastored by her grandson, Pastor Corey Singletary, Sr.

She also faithfully served in the private residence of Mrs. Stella Thayer.

She was preceded in death by: her Husband of 65 years, Andrew Johnson; her Children, Belton Johnson, Clarence Johnson, and Annie Gadson; her Siblings, Joseph Stillings, Albertha Franklin, Lamarcus W. Stillings, and Frances Grier; Sisters-In-Law, Laura Smalley, Evelyn Cooper, and Oris Stillings.
